About the event

Public Notice COMMUNITY MEETING Project No. 23-0001258, a Zone Text Amendment to establish objective development standards for Mixed-Use and Residential Only Projects in Non-Residential Zones, to implement the provisions of Assembly Bill (AB) 2011, the Affordable Housing and High Road Jobs Act of 2022.

What is this? The City of Burbank Planning Division will be holding a community meeting to present and discuss a Zone Text Amendment (ZTA) to establish objective development standards and submittal requirements for multi-family residential only and mixed-use projects in non-residential zones in anticipation of the July 1, 2023 effective date for Assembly Bill 2011 which amends California Government Code Sections 65400 and 65585 to allow for such development through a streamlined review process if certain eligibility criteria are met.  This is an informational meeting only to give the public the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions of staff.  No decisions will be made at this meeting.

How do I find out more or participate?

A local government may adopt an ordinance to implement the provisions of AB 2011. An ordinance adopted to implement of AB2011 shall not be considered a “project” under Division 13 (commencing with Section 21000) of the Public Resources Code. Furthermore, the proposed ZTA is Categorically Exempt from CEQA under the “common sense exemption” pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the CEQA Guidelines in which the activity in question has no potential for causing a significant effect on the environment.
