KCDC Skateshop

KCDC Skateshop is a Brooklyn-born, women‑founded skate shop and creative hub established in late 2001 by Amy Ellington in Williamsburg, New York City. Over two decades, KCDC has stood as one of the most progressive and inclusive spaces in skateboarding—a model for community, creativity, and cultural impact As one of the longest‑running female‑owned skateshops in the U.S., KCDC prioritized supporting women and LGBTQ+ riders, hosting grassroots skate clinics, art shows, panel discussions, and video premieres alongside traditional retail offerings.

KCDC earned high praise for its ethos of inclusivity: described by staff and patrons as a family, a feeling and a bond, it offered a welcoming, mentorship-driven space for skaters at all levels.

In 2021, KCDC marked its 20th anniversary with a signature collaboration—a KCDC × Nike SB Dunk High in pink and black—drawing international attention and reinforcing its influence in both skate and sneaker culture.

Although KCDC closed its physical storefront in 2024 due to escalating operating costs, its online store continues, and its legacy as a cultural institution in skateboarding endures—celebrated for community-building, creative expression, and unwavering compassion.
